About Palacegarden

Palacegarden Pekingese is a UK kennel breeding and showing top quality Pekingese. They live in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside with Jim and Jean Smith

The kennel

Jim and Jean have always had this fabulous breed as pets. Then in 1996 they began to show and breed Pekingese. Their affix, Palacegarden (‘palace’ because Pekingese are associated with the Imperial Palace of China and ‘garden’ because gardening is their second passion) was registered in 1998 and success in the show ring with homebred dogs followed.

Dogs outside the pavilion

The Pekingese all live and sleep in the house and during the day they enjoy lots of fresh air and exercise – essential for good bone and muscle development - in extensive garden runs.
